Year 5 are Lost in Space…

Year 5 are starting an exciting project building space buggies. They explored the tools and equipment in D+T they will be using for building moon buggies in the coming weeks. Undoubtedly, they are very excited to explore the design process!

The process started with a list of equipment and the design brief: construct a space buggy that can transport rocks across the surface of the moon. Through collaborative exploration, some brief research on the internet and some junk materials, students experimented and constructed their initial designs. They learned how to sketch plans with plan views and side elevations. They also learned how these skills can help them to communicate their ideas.  Let’s see how these models turn out!
