Year 5 Create Landscape Art
Year 5 are learning tracing and painting techniques.
Year 5 Art students are learning that creating art is more than just drawing a picture. They have been studying the works of famed Japanese landscape artist Katsushika Hokusai and creating their own. First, they chose a piece and then traced the outlines of the artwork. Then, they learned how to use different brush sizes, how to grip the brush to paint, how to mix colours and the importance of painting in layers. This way, they combine technical skill with creativity. They started some of the work during CSL at home but are back in school and working hard on their pieces. We are looking forward to seeing the finished works!
