Year 8 Warming Up in Music
Year 8 students create two bar phrases and accompany with body percussion.
Year 8 students have been doing warm-ups in Music with body percussion. Students had to use their name and something they liked to come up with a two bar phrase. Then, they chose up to four body percussion sounds to go along with it. There were some very creative responses and some students even got their pets involved! This was an activity by the Beat Goes On, a UK company that provide percussion workshops for kids.
Year 8 students experimented with the phrase and the percussion sounds and came up with some samples:
My name is Claire, and I like football
My name is Elsie and I like chocolate.
I am Kate and I like cake.
My name’s Tang-Mo and I like dogs
