Year 9 Students Honing Skills in D+T

Year 9 D+T students ready for a lamp making competition.

Students in Year 9 were hands-on in the D+T workshop as they practised their skills to get ready for an annual in-class competition. They will work in teams to produce the most lamps in 50 minutes from the materials on hand. However, they will remain environmentally aware as they tally the waste produced in the first run. The goal is to ensure that the second run has minimal waste left over. From past years, the record number of lamps with no waste produced was 18.

The Design + Technology Faculty recently earned the prestigious D+T Mark from the Design and Technology Association, for the second time, one of only three international schools in the world to have received this prestigious award.
