A Big Weekend for Sport

A Big Weekend for Sport

Check out our recap of an active Tigers weekend with Bangkok Patana Sport fixtures and the Primary Record Breakers event!

Sport is well and truly back at Bangkok Patana! Over the weekend, the Bangkok Patana Tigers were out in force. On Friday, our JV teams travelled to ISB for invitational tournaments, showing up and competing against fierce opposition. The Girls’ JV Basketball team swept the evening, winning all of their games! There was also success in Tennis for Asama, who took 3rd in the Girls’ A draw, whilst Tuna beat fellow Bangkok Patana Tiger, Teema, in the final of the Boys’ event. Also in attendance were Boys’ JV Basketball, Girls; JV Touch and Boys’ JV Rugby.

On Saturday, Coach Dan and our Tigers Tennis Team were in action for BMAC Varsity Singles. We hosted the Boys at Bangkok Patana, while the Girls travelled to ISB. Mark (2nd) and Pin (1st) were the top placed finishers.

Our Varsity Basketball players returned to action with the BMAC Invitational at NIST. Both teams put on a great show after lots of disruption to training. The Girls were crowned Champions, while the Boys finished second overall. We also saw the return of football fixtures with visits from NIST and Rugby School to challenge our select teams. There was lots of game time and players displaying our school values.

The swimmers headed across to ISB to take part in BMAC Swimming Championships and came away as champions! MVP performances came from Hanami and James with more than 20 school records and 100 personal best performances as the team return to racing.

On Saturday morning our Primary students were out in force for the annual Record Breakers athletics event. Parents and students enjoyed a morning of running, throwing and jumping with hundreds of personal bests and records broken!

We are so excited to finally get sport back underway! For so many students, sport represents a key highlight in their school career. We truly hope the disruption caused by COVID is coming to an end and that we can look forward to a successful Season 3 starting in a few weeks time.

Go Tigers!
