Happy Lunar New Year!

Happy Lunar New Year!

Students learn about diverse traditions and cultures through an inclusive celebration of the Lunar New Year.

Happy Lunar New Year! Welcoming the Year of the Tiger, Bangkok Patana has been overflowing with symbols of fortune and good luck. From lanterns hanging in the halls, to outfits accented with red, to students participating in various traditions from the celebrating countries. The celebration of the Lunar New Year reminds us to focus on the positive, and to use optimistic language – beliefs that fit seamlessly with Bangkok Patana’s own value of Well-Being. It is believed that in the Year of the Tiger, you have an opportunity to renew your energy and strength, and to overcome challenges. Now that sounds like a welcome wish for 2022!

Secondary students in the World Languages department worked on paper crafts in celebration of the Lunar New Year, making lanterns, colouring dragons, and folding the famous red envelopes which are indicative of good wishes and luck for the new year ahead. Students across all Year Groups will participate in various Lunar New Year activities throughout the week. Living our value of Global Citizenship, students engage in learning that is inclusive, understanding that the Lunar New Year is celebrated by many countries around the world. As such, they gain further appreciation for diverse traditions and cultures.
