A Busy Day in Foundation Stage

Foundation Stage children practised storytelling and phonics.

Foundation Stage children have been busy learning new stories and reviewing old favourites. One little girl said, “My favourite is Little Red Riding Hood because she was smarter than the wolf!” Another boy added that his favourite was Superman! By telling and retelling stories, the children practise their oral language while also learning listening skills. Next term the students will use this knowledge to add their own features to their favourite stories.

In another area of the Foundation Stage, children were busy learning Phonics. Practising can be difficult but the children were eager to show off their newly learned vowel sounds!
