Alumni Visits Inspire Secondary Students

Advice from alums in academics, athletics and activism…

Secondary students recently had the opportunity to hear from two Bangkok Patana alumni, receiving advice about time management, active engagement in academics and extra-curricular activities, as well as future career prospects.

Year 10 student athletes had a brief session with Grad ’22 alum, Anna Meller, a high-achieving student in both academics and sports. She shared how her involvement in sports shaped her character and work ethic, adding that maintaining open communication with her athletics coaches enabled her to prioritise academics when necessary (such as when an exam was approaching). She encouraged Year 10 student athletes to stay organised, work efficiently and develop positive relationships with their teachers and coaches.

CAT/ CAS student leaders and participants met with Grad ‘20 alum, Nandita Valiramani, who is currently working with World Animal Protection. She shared how her fifteen years spent at Bangkok Patana School encouraged her passion for social issues, including animal welfare. She is hopeful that World Animal Protection can expand their activism by working with Bangkok Patana School’s vibrant community action clubs and teams.

We are happy to be able to welcome alumni to our campus once again – and our students love hearing about how their experiences at Bangkok Patana shaped their future. Alumni should contact the Alumni Coordinator to arrange school visits.
