Building Bee Hotels in Year 3/4 ECAs

Make a buzz with Year 3 and 4 students in the Bee Hotel ECA!

Students in Years 3 and 4 have learnt valuable lessons about sustainability and the importance of insects as part of our wider ecosystem. The Bug Hotel ECA is driven by the UN Sustainable Development Goals and is underpinned by an awareness that we can all make a difference toward improving our local environments. Students are using their design skills to address the worrying fact that the global population of bees is in decline. Through design and technology, trial and error, collaboration, cooperation and problem-solving, students in the Bug Hotel ECA are initiating small-scale solutions at the local level to further impact the overall global bee population. The outcome of this learning process is a wonderfully visual reminder of the students’ commitment and effort. Bee Hotel ECA – making a buzz for a small, but very real, difference!
