Dancing with Your Gumboots On!
Bangkok Patana Students learn the gumboot dance from the Kliptown Youth Program Gumboot Dancers from South Africa
The Kliptown Youth Program Gumboot Dancers were at Bangkok Patana today all the way from South Africa and the Year 4, 5 and 6 students enjoyed watching them perform. The Gumboot Dancers had the kids clapping along and then slapping their legs. The Kliptown Youth Program helps lift disadvantaged students out of poverty, giving them a safe space to learn and grow. Bangkok Patana students had a great time joining in the dance! Secondary students also had a chance to see the Gumboot Dancers who took over the Front Hard Court during lunchtime. Besides dancing the South African youths also spoke to students about their lives in South Africa.
