Football Madness in Phuket!
Fantastic football away games…
After a two-year hiatus, 50 students were thrilled to travel to Phuket to compete at BISP7s, a long-standing football tournament that was returning for the first time since the pandemic. Bangkok Patana entered five different age groups and saw all teams reach the quarter final stages of the cup! Our Under 11 Boys had a great win against local rivals Shrewsbury in the last 16 and were only knocked out of the competition on penalties. Our Under 15 Boys had mixed fortunes throughout the weekend, finishing second in their group and then a narrow loss knocked them out of the quarter final stage. Our 13 Boys and Under 15 Girls both took Bronze after tight matches in the semi finals saw them narrowly miss out on a final spot; however, they both recovered from the disappointment to come back and win the 3rd place play off. The stand out team of the weekend has to be our Under 13 Girls’ team who won every match and reached the final, where they beat NIST 1-0 to finish as Champions!
