Foundation Stage Children Explore Their World

Children in Foundation Stage have been busy at home as they explore the world around them. Our Little Explorers theme encourages children to ask questions to explore the world around them. This keeps them curious and motivated to keep learning. They ask the important questions of who, what, when, where, why and how and try to find the answers. Sometimes children want to race ahead and get into their exploration – this engagement and motivation is fantastic!  Sometimes the child is encouraged to take a moment to think more deeply and make a plan. For example, if they want to interview an ‘expert’ (which might be a friend or family member), could they take the time to think carefully about what questions they want to ask, and attempt to write them down? So far, our Little Explorers have been investigating under the sea and how to create a sustainable world.
