Head of School Appointment

Dear Parents,
The Foundation Board has been searching for a new Head of School to take over the role following the retirement of Matt Mills in June 2023.
The project began in earnest in April 2022 and followed a thorough seven-month process using a specialised search firm. We received more than 80 applications for the role from all over the world. The Board search committee engaged staff, students and parents in a review of shortlisted candidates. Thank you to all of you who took time to meet with the candidates and to share your feedback with us.
We are pleased to welcome Chris Sammons as our new Head of School from August 2023. Chris has a professional interest in intercultural education, which is complemented by a combination of strong experience and academic qualifications. He is currently the Principal at West Island School in Hong Kong, where he has been since 2016. Before that, he worked at St Katherine’s School in Bristol, in Warwickshire and in Oxford. Chris has been an educator for 28 years.
Chris’ professional qualifications include an MA (Hons) in Neuroscience and Psychology of Mental Health from King’s College London, a Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Studies and a BA (Hons) in Economics and Politics.
Chris has three children in their 20s and he will be moving to Bangkok with his wife Julie.
