Dear Students and Parents of Year 13,
As you may be aware, the IB have cancelled the May 2020 external examination session. This information was sent to Heads of School and IB Diploma Coordinators yesterday evening with the request that it not be released to our community until today.
Please see the letter from IB, which summarises their response and indicates their intentions with respect to the award of qualifications. I am afraid that we have no further information on the details of this currently, but as you will see the IB said they will clarify further by the end of the week.
While we understand that this news is disappointing and unsettling for you, please be reassured that both the IBO and Bangkok Patana School will continue to do everything possible to ensure the integrity of the qualification that you have worked so hard for, and to support you in your journey to the stage in your education and beyond.
You are bound to experience a range of emotions over the next few days as working towards these final exams has been all-consuming. Spend some time with your families, try to get some exercise and catch up on your sleep.
The Careers and Universities team will contact you soon with regard to next steps from their perspective.
