IB Visual Arts and D+T Exhibition

Secondary students’ design and creativity on display

The IB Visual Arts and D+T Exhibition opening evening provided our Senior Studies students with the opportunity to showcase the projects they have been working on over the past two years. In the Visual Arts, a variety of art forms were presented by each student, demonstrating the range of talent and skills that they have worked to develop over the past two years. Students presented their pieces within a conceptual theme, exploring ideas such as identity, love, mentality, perspective, culture and introspection. IB Visual Arts students have further worked to developed intricate connections between the artwork and the viewer, considering how the audience will perceive their piece in terms of emotion, engagement and interaction.

The D+T projects on display ranged from resistant materials and graphic products in (I)GCSE, to Iterative Design in IB. As D+T is driven by inquiry and problem-solving, students were tasked with developing solutions that also consider the impact their design has on the environment. In working to strengthen their level of design literacy, students focusing on D+T apply their critical thinking and design skills within a practical context. All Visual Arts and D+T projects will be on display at the Exhibition Hall until the end of Term 2.
