International Day

International Day

Celebrating our diversity and global citizenship!

The much-awaited International Day was celebrated with 65 nationalities represented in the parade, five cultures highlighted in the cultural show and a variety of nations handing out tastes of traditional foods in the Food Hall. Students and parents were thrilled to participate, with many people taking the opportunity to share their stories. Our special guest MC was storyteller Niall De Burca, who involved the audience in his storytelling. Students Adrien Lombard and Amy Brettell shared their personal stories of multiple cultures and diversity. Mr Chris Sammons concluded the assembly by reflecting that differences and diversity are our strength at Bangkok Patana School. He quoted Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s philosophy saying, “I am me because you are you and together, we are us – and that is what our Patana community is about. It is about all of us being together.”

A huge thank you to the PTG (Parent Teacher Group) and the many parent volunteers for their fantastic work organising the event and ensuring that everything went smoothly throughout the busy morning. International Day is an amazing opportunity for all nationalities represented at Bangkok Patana School to join together, highlighting our unity in diversity, as well as our inclusivity, which makes us true global citizens. We can’t wait for next year!
