World Diabetes Day

For this year’s World Diabetes Day, the students held a DiabeOne Dunk Tank..

For this year’s World Diabetes Day, the students of the DiabeOne community engagement team held a Dunk Tank, which was very popular in the Secondary School. It was a fun way to raise awareness and funds about diabetes more specifically T1DM. Some of our Secondary teachers were kind enough to volunteer to be dunked by the students. Much fun was had by all.

DiabeOne is a student-led community engagement club centred around raising awareness and funds for Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus(T1DM). Our current projects, in addition to fundraising, are working on an informational website and a T1DM locally-catered monitoring app — based on our present ongoing research paper about the perspectives and experiences of adolescents with T1DM.

Our funds raised this year will go towards a T1DM camp held annually throughout different provinces for families with T1DM to attend.
