Loy Krathong Celebrations

Children decorated and floated their krathongs on Patana waterways.

Children in Primary celebrated Loy Krathong, dressing up in traditional Thai clothing, making and floating their own krathongs. Loy Krathong is a special celebration in Thailand; people across the nation make krathongs (floating baskets) and decorate them. They then float them on waterways. Loy Krathong thanks the Goddess of Water and also venerates the Buddha with light (a candle). As the krathong floats away so does ones negative thoughts and past transgressions. In school, students floated their krathongs at the Reflection Pool and the pond at the Sala to celebrate Loy Krathong.
