Mindfulness at Home

Mindfulness at Home

Mindfulness and meditation are an important way to lower stress levels as students move to learning at home.

During this period of CSL, mindfulness at home can provide many benefits. Research shows that meditation and mindfulness can help us to increase our ability to regulate emotions, decrease stress, anxiety and depression. It can also help us to focus our attention and observe our thoughts and feelings without judgment. Amazingly, neuro-scientists have even observed changes in the brain! The grey matter in your brain’s amygdala – a region known for its role in stress – can become smaller. The shift to online learning can throw up some significant challenges for families. So, starting today we are offering an eight day meditation challenge. From 4.00 – 4.30 pm students can dial in via Teams (please contact VALO@patana.ac.th to be added to the calls) and take part in a LIVE video meditation practice with our very own Head of Dance, Vallary Lokre.

If you can’t join us please do try to do some light physical activity of your own choosing. Even gentle stretching or a yoga sequence will have significant health benefits.
