Patana Pathways – Concept Art and Entertainment Design
A 15 year Patana Pathway journey comes to a close..
15 years! That’s how long Demi has spent her schooling with Bangkok Patana, her second home. Now about to graduate, Demi has received conditional offers from Leeds Arts University, Norwich University of Arts, Staffordshire University and Teeside University to pursue Concept Art and Entertainment Design.
Growing up, Demi’s interests lay far away from Art but her sister, Jenjira (Grad’ 15) and the pandemic played a small part in her shift towards Art. It was during Covid that Demi developed her interest in Concept Art when her inquisitiveness about her favourite characters, from movies or games made her do more research into the process and thought behind character development. Two years later when Demi reached IB, she had decided to include IB Art in her list of subjects. Without the experience of art at the GCSE level, Demi had to put in a lot of effort. “It was initially quite hard to work on my portfolio as I had to squeeze in my art within a limited time,” she said.
Demi’s love and passion for graphic art is evident in her work which was recently showcased at the IB Visual Arts show. Demi has accepted an offer from Otis College of Art and Design with a scholarship to pursue Concept Art and Entertainment Design.
