16 years of a Patana Pathway …


Starting in Nursery, Jeremy has come a long way in his Patana Pathway excelling in various leadership roles, academics and extra-curricular pursuits. These include being Vice President of INTERACT, Platoon Leader and Captain in Junior ROTC, Student Delegate and Teacher Assistant, Saxophonist, the list goes on.

Academically, Jeremy excelled in the sciences, particularly physics. He participated in the Physics Olympiad for two years, demonstrating his deep understanding and love for the subject. His Extended Essay focused on the economic benefits of shifting towards Electric Vehicles, highlighting his interest in sustainable technologies and their impact on the economy. For his Mathematics IA, Jeremy investigated Kepler’s second law, developing an equation that aligned with the one from “An Introduction to Modern Physics 2nd edition,” showcasing his ability to engage with complex mathematical concepts.

Helping others has always been one of the main priorities for Jeremy. Besides his duties as a Student Delegate, he enjoyed being in Year 1 and 2 as a teaching assistant for children in English and Mathematics. Growing up Jeremy wanted to be a doctor but as time passed his love for Physics and Chemistry grew thanks to his teachers at Bangkok Patana. In Year 12 he realised his interest in Chemistry combined with his desire for helping others through medicine, could be pursued with Chemical Engineering. “It’s not just about working in the lab; it’s about knowing how to scale small research advancements,” said Jeremy when asked about the most intriguing aspect of chemical engineering. “I’m especially excited to learn more about nanotechnology for medicinal applications, which has the potential to reduce diseases.”

Jeremy received offers from University of Bath, University of Edinburgh, University of Manchester, Northeastern University, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, University of California, Davis, University of California, San Diego, University of Colarado Boulder, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Jeremy has accepted his offer from UCL to pursue Chemical Engineering
