Ready, Set, Go! Primary Sports Days

Primary children showed off their prowess in their Sports Days…

This week our Primary students are taking part in the first of our Primary PE and Sports Weeks. Children in Year 1 to Year 3 have their Sports Day, giving them the opportunity to develop and showcase the athletic skills that they have been practicing in their PE lessons since the start of the term. Parents have been watching their children run, jump and throw with the only competition being against themselves! All events have been designed so all children are able to achieve their best and score points for their class. Sports Days are a fantastic way to strengthen the bond between classes and highlight the importance of encouragement for our peers.

Children in Years 4, 5 and 6 have Swimming Galas this week. They are exposed to some healthy class competition with a combination of both fun and more traditional races. Children have been given the opportunity to select races that they feel comfortable competing in; this helps them to learn how to handle competition in a constructive and positive manner. Our swimming galas contain events such as double doggy noddle race, 25m butterfly event, bodyboard relay and the much-anticipated teacher chariot event. We look forward to welcoming you and hearing your encouraging cheers!
