Senior Leadership Update – 19th May 2022

Updates on a parent survey, covid protocols and visa documents….

Dear Parents,

Our first drama production in two years wrapped up yesterday. The Secondary students really enjoyed the experience of being on stage and having a live audience with whom they could interact. Thank you to the parents who were able to attend the performances, we hope you enjoyed being present as much as we did!

On Tuesday we sent out a letter to all parents asking for feedback in regards to future-fitting our school. We hope that you will be able to complete the survey before Wednesday 25th May. Staff and students are also completing similar surveys and in the Primary School, staff will be doing class exercises to gather data from our younger students. Your valuable input into the survey will be used to inform us and our consultants in the development of a new master plan.

We have engaged a consortium of companies to assist in the planning project, which will run from now until December 2022 – with the master plan execution to be over the following 10 or so years. The companies in the consortium are Tim Beaumont and Partners (a local architectural firm who led our last master plan), New learning Environments (an Australian team who act as an interface between designers and educators in co-creation of learning environments) and FJMT (an Australian based architectural firm with significant experience in designing for learning).

This is an exciting opportunity for the school and one which is important for all the community.

Changes to Covid protocols – We have some updates as we gradually relax Covid protocols in consultation with the BMA. As of Monday 23rd May:

  • Visitors to campus and parents attending school events or meetings are required to show a negative ATK test that has been completed within 24 hours of visiting (previously 12 hours).
  • There is no longer a requirement for clinic administered ATK tests for unvaccinated visitors.
  • School buses will be back to full capacity; all people in the bus must be masked at all times. Food and drinks are still not allowed on the buses.

A reminder that parents coming to pick up and drop off their children or visit the Libraries do not need to complete ATK tests.

Visa Documentation – If you require documentation from the School to support visa applications or extensions over the summer break, please contact Khun Pareena in the Admissions Office at parg@patana.ac.th as soon as possible with your child’s name and requirements. Please be reminded that we require 3-5 working days to prepare these documents, and the last date to request visa support documentation will be Friday 10th June 2022. No requests can be processed between 1st and 31st July. The Admissions Office will be able to support new requests from 1st August 2022 onwards.

The final IB exam for this academic year is tomorrow! Well done to the Class of 2022 and we are very much looking forward to their Graduation ceremony next Saturday.

Wishing you a restful weekend.

Best wishes, The Senior Leadership Team
