Senior Leadership Update – 30th September 2021

The latest update from the Senior Leadership Team

Dear Parents,

Not much has changed regarding the opening of the school campus since our last update earlier this week. We will not stop our communications to government departments, letting them know we are ready and eager to open the campus in a safe, staggered and controlled manner. The good news is that an international school close to Bangkok has been able to open this week and we hope this is a catalyst for other schools to open.

A couple of weeks ago, we shared some details of our school reopening plan, particularly regarding if there are suspected or confirmed COVID cases within the school. Please take the time to review the plan.

We’d like to know how our parents feel about returning their children to the school campus when we open. A survey link was sent to parents via email.

  1. Before any student starts their first day on campus, parents must procure and administer an ATK test for their children. These ATK test kits are easily available from your local pharmacy or you can order them from the PTG online store.
  2. If you still haven’t done so, please complete the Health and Travel Declaration form HERE. This form is a mandatory pre-requisite for school campus re-entry.

A large number of our staff who received two Sinovac vaccines earlier this year are currently receiving booster shots. Approximately 500 of our students will be receiving a vaccine on Monday 4th October and this helps to make our community even safer once we return to campus. Only students who have already received an appointment time will be accepted for their first dose. We cannot add any names to this list of students who registered earlier in September. However, if you would like to pre-register your child(ren) for the next round, please complete THIS form. At this time, we do not know when we will be able to offer more first shots to our students.  Subject to government regulations, we will not make vaccinations mandatory for students to return to school.

Just in case you missed the Primary World Peace Day celebrations last week, we are sure this video will make you smile: https://vimeo.com/615676304

We hope you have a good weekend.

Best wishes,

Senior Leadership Team
