Setting Time for Design+Technology
How does making a clock help students learn to solve real world problems?
How do Year 7 students apply processes to systematically solve real world problems?
To answer the Learning Intention above, Year 7 students are using skills combined with knowledge and understanding developed in Terms 1 and 2 to design and make a Memphis style clock.
Students use crating and rendering techniques before applying Computer Aided Drawing software to create dimensionally accurate designs. Throughout the project, they reference detailed design specifications to ensure the final products will meet the demands of the customer.
With an increased understanding of processes and materials, students are able to create realistic designs that will be manufactured over the coming weeks.
