The Beauty of a Flower is More than Skin Deep

Year 12 IB Biology students dissect flowers to learn about plant reproduction.

How do you dissect a flower? Year 12 IB Biology students are finding out that the answer is ‘Very carefully!’ They are currently studying plant reproduction and dissecting flowers to identify the different parts. In January, they will be able to put these studies into practice when they participate in the field trip to Khao Yai National Park. With around 2,000 different species of plants in that area, there will be plenty to see and study.

The beauty of a flower is there for everyone to enjoy but for an IB Biology student there is a deeper appreciation of knowing ‘why’!
