UKMT Maths Challenge

UKMT Maths Challenge

Students set out to demonstrate their mathematics skills at the UKMT challenge…

Approximately 160 students across Year 9, 10 and 11 took part in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge. They tackled 25 outstanding problems, each trying to find the route to a solution. Great maths problems are those where the pathway is not immediately clear, and this was certainly the case this year.  A mixture of numerical, algebraic and geometrical ideas often coming together in the same problem produced an outstanding experience for many of our students. We will keep our fingers crossed for the results and see how many students will be invited to take part in the follow-on Olympiad rounds.
