University Offers: Pasawat (Tang Tae) Sakulpanich, UCLA

Congratulations to Tang Tae on his offers from the University of California Berkeley, University of California Los Angeles, University of Southern California, University of Michigan, University College London and King’s College London. He plans on attending UCLA where he will study Human Biology and Society.

I had a hard time deciding between UC Berkeley and UCLA because because both campuses have many opportunities for research and allow the flexibility of picking and choosing your classes for the first few years, allowing me to discover or rediscover my interests before declaring my major. These universities allow me to conduct research as well as participate in many extra-curricular activities. Another bonus is UCLA has amazing food in their canteen! In the end, I decided on UCLA where I will study Human Biology and Society with a potential minor in Art or Design.

I’ve always been interested in health and helping the community not just through medical practices but also through foundational individual lifestyle changes such as diet and exercise. In addition, the improvement of global health also depends on understanding socio-economic backgrounds of different geographic locations, which is something I took interest in during the IB HL Geography course here at school.

I would recommend to other students to start early and try your best to learn outside the classroom! Whether it be reading articles and magazines or taking courses online in your free time. Also participate in extra-curricular activities. It will really give your essays/personal statement that extra shine.
