Tianshu Chu will be studying Geographic Information Systems at the University of Toronto

Congratulations to Tianshu Chu! He has has received offers from the University of Toronto, Pennsylvania State University, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Colorado School of Mines, Ohio State University, University of California at Santa Cruz and the University of Washington.

“I have decided to attend the University of Toronto in Canada. I chose University of Toronto because it is a well-known school that offers my first choice of majors.”

“I’m looking forward to studying Geographic Information Systems as my major. This major integrates geography, computer science and cartography. (My IB subjects include geography and CS). My aim is to learn to develop and analyse geographical data with the support of technology and software, then interpret and explain the obtained results for future purposes such as to create innovative plans. One important activity I did that raised my application was the Duke of Edinburgh’s trip because the trekking was closely related to geography.”

“I suggest other students do their university research during the summer of year 12. Also, don’t hesitate to talk to your counsellor when needed because they are super nice.”
