Year 10 Design Community Spaces

Year 10 Design Community Spaces

Year 10 learns digital design for community development.

Year 10 Graphic Artists are working on a “Third Place” project, using digital design software to construct their own community spaces. Students will link their community spaces to local charities. In this lesson, students started on the digital drafts of the interior merchandise, as well as the mascot for their space, using Adobe Fresco. Students will then create their mascots using real fabric, integrating digital design with physical design. They will also design the packaging of their interior merchandise using Adobe Photoshop. This lesson provides students with the ‘real-world’ experience of the workflow from digital design to physical product. These students are also encouraged to consider their roles as active stewards of their communities and to design spaces to be used for good and to contribute to others’ well-being.
