Year 2 learns from Secondary Scientists

Year 2 students learn about electricity, sound and light during Science Week

Science Week gives Year 2 students an exciting opportunity to explore new concepts with Secondary Science students. During Science Week, Year 2 students learn about electricity, sound and light in fun experiments that engage the students in developing their scientific curiosity.

Science Week also gives the students a chance to support the learning of others as it is a sponsored learning event to support the Children of the Forest, Year 2’s charity project. Year 2 students receive stamps in passports for each completed activity and parents and friends sponsor the student for each completed passport. Their aim is to raise enough money to sponsor a class for a term, or even better, a whole year!

Here, the children are learning about reflection and the power of illusion, thrilling their friends while they appear to be putting their hands in burning flames.
