Year 6 are Minding their Own Beeswax!

Year 6 are inspired to improve global sustainability after making their own reusable wrappers.

Year 6 are learning how to create their own reusable beeswax wrappers in the kitchen. Students started by choosing the material and design they wanted, then melted the wax. Next, they painted the wax on their soon-to-be reusable wrappers and then baked them in the oven. Students are learning that small steps for environmental change can be just as important as big ones. They can now use their colourful beeswax wrappers to replace plastic wrap in the kitchen. Year 6 students learned about Earth Heroes, then learned how to be their own Earth Heroes by making small, manageable changes that can ultimately have a big impact on our planet’s future.
