Year 7 Get Personal in Art

Year 7 students are back in the Art studios and making their sketchbooks personal with drawings. Often great art is derived from simplicity. To this end, students were tasked with creating a cover design from their Art books. The design had to include their Year group, class and the word ‘Art’. As an additional challenge, they had to include objects that could be found in the Art studio; this was a good way to get students looking at the tools, instruments and facilities they will use over during their course. They began with pencils and rulers to sketch out their designs. Next they will fill in the design with colours and patterns. The finished product will be as individual and unique as each one of our students and they will be ready to fill their book with sketches!
