Year 8 Physics in all the Colours of the Rainbow

Year 8 study prisms to learn more about light reflection and refraction.

Year 8 Science students are investigating the physics of light. They already learnt how to do light ray diagrams showing the Law of Reflection and Refraction using light ray apparata. Now, they are digging deeper into the science of light and learning all about the physics of colour.

Using prisms, Year 8s are causing light to disperse into the colours of the visible spectrum and recording their observations. They loved playing with the various colours and learning the concepts of colour reflection and absorption using the coloured light apparatus. The students are working hard to understand the actual science behind their observations. The science of light has really inspired them to discover more.
