Year 7 Students Transform Campus Inspiration into Lasting Art
Blooming Creativity
Creativity was in full bloom in a recent Art lesson with Year 7, as students explored sculpting techniques and brought the beauty of our campus to life through clay.
Inspired by the lily flowers floating on the school ponds, students developed their understanding of three-dimensional form while experimenting with 3D materials. This was an exciting challenge that they embraced with enthusiasm and skill. Their confidence and dexterity were evident as they carefully shaped individual clay sculptures, each reflecting a unique artistic response.
The finished pieces also draw on the significance of floral symbolism in Thai art, connecting student learning to the cultural context around them. Once fired in the school kiln, these sculptures will become permanent ceramic artworks displayed around the Reflection Pool, contributing to the aesthetic environment of Bangkok Patana School.
This project is a wonderful example of students making a lasting impact through their creativity. As their Art Teacher, Mrs Marcovici shared, “I am incredibly proud of these students! Their creativity, hard work and willingness to take on a challenging medium has resulted in a truly beautiful work.”
The Patana community is warmly invited to enjoy these sculpted lilies when returning in August and we hope you enjoy this lasting celebration of student creativity and collaboration.
