A Multicultural Feast for Year 6

A Multicultural Feast for Year 6

Year 6 students celebrated the diversity of Bangkok Patana with a veritable feast!

Year 6 students are studying ‘Interculturalism’ and have been exploring the book ‘Thai-Riffic!’ by Oliver Phommovanh; about a third culture kid who was born in Thailand but grew up in Australia. Their multicultural celebration is a reflection of a prominent scene in the book and celebrates a shared love of food and how it links to our identity. The students also created their own dish of summer spring rolls, which may inspire many of them to carry on cooking and exploring at home.

The students will continue to explore interculturalism through the artistic movement of cubism and music and will culminate with the ‘Year 6 Sharing the Learning’ assembly on Wednesday 9th October.
