Bill Bowers: One-Man Mime

Mime is an ancient art form, the first performing art in fact and it remains our first language. Bill Bowers the one-man mime actor has been in school.

New York actor Bill Bowers performed his one-man show Beyond Words to an enraptured audience in the Black Box theatre. Bill trained with a famous mime artist Marcel Marceau in Paris and has performed on Broadway. Bill has also spent time with groups of Year 7 and 8 students teaching them about the ancient art form of Mime.

Mime is an essential aspect of contemporary theatre and has in recent times, informed many areas of contemporary performing arts from modern dance to Butoh to hip-hop and freestyle. In the core workshops, students looked into the past in order to understand the present and look into the future.
