Careers Coffee Morning, Virtually!
Careers and Universities counsellors met with parents to discuss university options.
The Careers and Universities team are making sure parents keep up-to-date by holding a coffee morning, virtually! They urged parents to sit down and talk with their students about their goals and needs. The counsellors stressed the importance of finding the best fit. It is key to look at many other factors: selectivity, rural vs urban, weather, ease of travelling home, cost and timing of getting a visa, cost of living at school, etc. Parents were urged to consider their child’s career pathway, career interest, courses and subjects.
Parents were reminded when looking at different schools with their children, that subject ranking is more important than school ranking. However, most important is finding the right fit, don’t just follow the crowd, go with what is right for that student. Check out all the resources they shared on Firefly here.
