Collaborating for the String Festival

A beautiful performance from Key Stage 3 students…

The Key Stage 3 String Orchestra Festival is a longstanding tradition at Bangkok Patana, providing an opportunity to young string players from different international schools to perform together. Throughout the two-day event, students make music together, meet new friends and have fun whilst learning. Organising the event for the first time since 2019 was very exciting and saw participants from five other local schools, including Harrow International School, St Andrews International School, Shrewsbury International School, International Community School and Thai-Chinese International School. Each of the schools suggested a piece for the festival’s repertoire, where more than one hundred students formed a large orchestra and practiced the pieced for two days under the direction of strings teachers from the participating schools. The festival then concluded with a gala concert in the Rosamund Stuetzel Theatre, a wonderful performance opportunity for all Key Stage 3 students.
