Exploring Habitats in Year 2

Year 2 students are exploring habitats! They started by researching animals. First, they had to decide what animal to focus on. Then, they researched the animal so they could draw a picture of it. They explored using different materials and drawing techniques as they coloured, drew and painted their animals. They have also been learning vocabulary about habitats and researching their animal’s habitat. Next, they will be drawing their animal’s habitat using different materials and drawing methods such as shading and highlighting.

The children will need to keep their artwork safely as it will come into use later in the term to create their own habitat!
