Home Language Story Telling in Year 4

Students in 4D share the book Lost and Found in their home languages.

Storytellers in 4D were excited to share one of their favourite books in their home language as part of a Secondary World Languages initiative. Students in Secondary were asked to read their favourite book out loud and record it. These recordings were shared with Year 4 students.

The students of 4D were inspired to join the challenge and picked the book Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers. They translated the pages by themselves into Thai, Mandarin, Japanese and Spanish before performing in front of the class. Students in 4D were excited to learn more about their classmates’ home languages. Embracing diversity is important for our students to become inclusive global citizens. Watch the video below and enjoy the book!
