Primary School Speech and Language Therapist

Anna Lawlor is a true third culture kid; she was born in Germany but grew up internationally, mainly in Abu Dhabi. She went on to earn her BSc (Hons) in Speech and Language Therapy in Scotland at Queen Margaret University.

“I feel quite at home here because I grew up in this kind of environment and I can relate to the lifestyle. It is different if you don’t grow up in the country you were born in, you learn about so many different cultures and meet people from different backgrounds. It shapes you to be a global citizen.”

“I am looking forward to working collaboratively with all the teaching staff within my team and the wider school community. As a therapist there are always things to learn about and develop. Bangkok Patana is a good place to develop professionally.”

“After I graduated from Queen Margaret University I worked in the NHS in Dundee, Scotland for a few years, working in the community visiting different schools. After the NHS I was ready to move somewhere else and experience something new. Growing up in Abu Dhabi I had been to Thailand for holidays. An opportunity came up and I’ve not regretted this since. It’s nice living here, with the travel opportunities and things to do in Bangkok, you can’t get bored.”

“Challenge number one is finding my way around the school! I am familiarising myself with the school, getting to know the processes and how things work and making sure that I meet the high standards that gives the school its great reputation.”
