Meet the New Teacher: Max Dunn

Max is the new Primary Extended Learning teacher

Primary Extended Learning Teacher

Maxwell Dunn, or Max as he prefers to be called, graduated with a Bachelor’s in Philosophy from the University of Guelph in Canada. Working in Bangkok inspired him to return to Canada to further his education where he earned a B.Ed at Queen’s University in Ontario.

The Road to Bangkok Patana

“The first time I saw Bangkok Patana was about five or six years when I moved to Bangkok to work at Assumption School Samut Prakan where I taught for two years. I was impressed, I thought it looked like a university campus. It is quite modern and artsy but green. After Bangkok I returned to Canada to further my studies but once I finished my postgrad work, I knew I would go back abroad. When I finished, I taught in Ho Chi Minh City for two years. However, I always knew I wanted to come back to Bangkok so when I saw this position, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for.”

Opportunities for Development

“One of things that is exciting about Bangkok Patana is it offers me opportunities to develop more as a professional. I am looking forward to working with people who have more experience than myself.”

“As I have never taught in a British system before I think adjusting to the system will really help me grow; many of the methodologies they use are different from what I am used to using.”

“On the personal side, I enjoy scuba diving, tennis and baseball (softball). I love travelling, going to new places but mainly through scuba diving. I love going to new restaurants and trying new places.”
