Year 5 Learn to Apply Maths to Real Life
Year 5 are working collaboratively to use maths in real life situations.
Students in Year 5 have been learning how to apply their new mathematics skills to real life. Co-teachers roam the classroom challenging them to meet their potential through different activities. The lesson starts with a ‘Number Talk’ to develop mathematical vocabulary and reasoning. The students collaborate and support each other as they explain their thinking. With a focus on rounding numbers some students will problem solve and explain their thinking with models while others work on fluency.
