Senior Leadership Update – 2nd June 2022
Updates on Covid protocols at school, graduation, university offers….
Dear Parents,
We are racing towards the end of the school year and we have an action-packed three weeks ahead! As the original British school in Thailand, today is special as we celebrate HM Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. We hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow, as we all celebrate the birthday of HM Queen Suthida.
The Ministry of Education and our local BMA health office have updated their protocols regarding high risk contacts, and we have adjusted our guidelines to reflect the changes. High risk cases who have at least two vaccines AND no symptoms do not have to quarantine. They need to self-monitor for symptoms over a ten-day period and must complete ATK tests on Day 5 and Day 10.
We are very pleased to confirm that we have experienced no issues regarding our school buses moving back to full capacity. In addition, our PTG members completed bus inspections this week and gave a double thumbs up!
It is natural that people will want to celebrate with end of year parties and we advise caution. Over the past month, we have had Covid clusters occur from large events organised outside of school. Our parents are encouraging us to continue with the school guidelines currently in place regarding our ATK testing regime and masking, and we hope this caution is mirrored with events you organise outside of school as well.
Congratulations to the students, parents and teachers of our Graduating Class of 2022! The graduation ceremony was held last Saturday – the video of the ceremony is available on our YouTube channel. The Class of 2022 has received offers from over 186 universities around the world. We wish them all the best as they await their IB results and make their preparations for the next stage in their learning journeys.
We’ve had a very busy and productive week, working with our newly selected masterplan educational consultants and architects as we prepare for the next stage of the school’s innovation and strategic development.
We are looking forward to the Dance Extravaganza on Monday 6th June where we will see a wide array of talented young dancers who have been preparing for this event for a number of months.
Enjoy your final long weekend before the holidays!
Best wishes, Senior Leadership Team
