Stretch and Challenge in Science

Stretch and Challenge in Science

Science students collaborate and investigate in the Stretch and Challenge ECA.

Year 8 and 9 students are taking part in the Science Stretch and Challenge extra-curricular activity, giving them the opportunity to discover and analyse scientific phenomena and earn a Bronze Award for their projects! Students collaborate in groups to choose an area of study, design and construct experiments to investigate their research topic and then evaluate the results. The ECA follows the CREST Awards scheme; the British Science Association’s flagship programme for young people, providing science enrichment activities to inspire and engage 5-to-19-year olds. It is the only nationally recognised accreditation scheme for project work in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects.
