Suzi Hobday, Humanities Faculty

Meet Suzi Hobday, Secondary Geography Teacher

Suzi Hobday was born in Kenya and grew up in Bahrain, where she completed her high school education at an international school. She then moved to Leeds to complete her degree and worked in a law firm prior to changing her career to teaching. Previoulsy, Suzi taught in Manchester and in China. Drawn to Thailand as a great place to live, Suzi learned about Bangkok Patana’s various opportunities for staff engagement and professional development, which she says have surpassed her expectations now that she is here onsite! Suzi credits her Humanities Faculty colleagues as having been very helpful through the start of the year, and she was excited to have joined the Year 11 Geography field trip to Hua Hin just a few weeks into Term 1.

In addition to teaching, Suzi enjoys the outdoors, reading and playing sports, including rugby, golf and netball. During her first year at Bangkok Patana, Suzi hopes to learn more about the IB Diploma Programme, getting involved with some of the Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) student-led projects and developing relationships with her students. She mentioned that Geography makes for an amazing gateway to explore students’ characters and that she enjoys learning from them and their own personal experiences.
