Year 1 Get Groovy with Lava Lamps in Science
Year 1 experimented with ingredients to create lava lamps at home.
Whilst our Year 1s might not have called them “groovy”, the young children certainly enjoyed learning about the science behind lava lamps! Using a variety of ingredients they learned how to make their own Magic Bubble Lamps (as one Year 1 named them) at home. Cooking oil, vinegar, baking soda, even Alka Seltzer came into use. And, of course, food colouring to make it super groovy. Naturally, older (and younger!) brothers and sisters gladly lent a hand in this fun Science experiment.
