Year 2 Get Measuring!
Year 2 students measured items around the house.
Students in Year 2 whipped out the tape measures and rulers to start measuring different items from around the house. From tables to televisions, students measured household items and reported back. They were given a list of suggested items but many students looked around and found some more unusual items to measure. Bicycles, pencils, even fidget spinners were there to be measured! Learning how to measure is a key skill for young students as they explore centimetres and metres. Then, the children compared measurements, finding that many items are a standard size…but some were not!
