Year 5 Colonise Mars
Year 5 have been hard at work learning how to colonise Mars!
Students in Year 5 asked “How can we create a successful Mars colony?”
They started by thinking about what ‘colony’ means and what makes up a colony. From there, they discussed what humans need to survive and thrive. The students split the project into three sections: shelter, transport and a spacesuit. Then, they researched Mars and previous missions to space to come up with designs from spacesuits to rovers, rockets to shelter. You can follow their creation of moon buggies here.
